Indian Idol 12: After Sonu Nigam, Kumar Sanu REACTS on Amit Kumar being asked to praise the contestants

Indian Idol 12 has been making the noise but for all the wrong reasons. Amit Kumar's harsh criticism on Kishore Kumar special episode about being asked to praise the contestants opened a can of worms that has now raised questions over the show's authencity. And now Kumar Sanu has reacted to everything that transpired on the show involving Amit Kumar.

In one of the recent episodes, the show's host Aditya Narayan had taken a dig at Amit Kumar by asking the show's guests Kumar Sanu, Roop Kumar Rathod and Anuradha Paudwal, if anyone from their team had asked them to praise the contestants. His jibe came after Amit Kumar had revealed that he didn't enjoy the Kishore Kumar special episode and wanted it to stop.

Reacting to the Amit Kumar controversy, Kumar Sanu said that it was his personal viewpoint and nothing like this had happened when he graced the show as a guest. "Maybe, he did not like the singing when he was on the show... I feel, Amit ji did not like the singing as the contestants were singing his father's songs... Those young contestants also must have faltered somewhere and maybe he (Amit) did not like that. Since Kishore Da's way of singing is on a totally different level it is extremely difficult to sing like him... I don't know what happened in Amit ji's episode so I can't comment on it. However, if something like this happened then it is indeed shameful but I feel every episode is different," Kumar Sanu told Peeping Moon.

When Kumar Sanu was asked about being asked by the makers to praise the contestants on the show, the singer said, "We are informed which contestant is singing what song and then asked to comment - whether good or bad accordingly over it, as per our choice... I don't know maybe something else happened on the show due to which Amit ji was unhappy. Since I respect him, I can't oppose him but at the same time I can't agree with him outright either as I am sure the contestants tried their best to do justice and give tribute to Kishore da's songs."

A few days ago, when Manoj Muntashir criticized Amit Kumar for his statements, Sonu Nigam came out in support of Kishore Kumar's son asking people to put an end to this whole controversy. In a video, he explained that the makers were not wrong in asking someone to encourage the contestants. He also asked Aditya Narayan and Manoj Muntashir to respect a senior like Amit Kumar and deal with the matter in a dignified manner.

Amid the ongoing controversy, Sunidhi Chauhan had recently revealed that she quit Indian Idol as a judge because the makers had asked her to praise contestants on the show. She was a part of the judges panel of the 5th and 6th season of Indian Idol.
