WTF Wednesday: Vidyut Jammwal and Kunal Kemmu were left out of the launch event of their own films - how ridiculous is that!

It seemed like a good start to the week as Akshay Kumar released a video on social media and informed fans that a big news was expected later in the day. It was indeed a big news as, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Abhishek Bachchan, Varun Dhawan and Akshay Kumar announced that their respective films will be releasing on Disney Plus Hotstar. However, there was a catch. Seven films were officially announced Laxmmi Bomb, Sadak 2, Bhuj, Dil Bechara, The Big Bull, Lootcase, and Khuda Hafiz, but there was no representation for Lootcase and Khuda Hafiz. Kunal Kemmu, who stars in Lootcase and Vidyut Jammwal, who stars in Khuda Hafiz, took to Twiiter and expressed their displeasure.

"Izzat aur pyaar maanga nahi kamaya jaata hai. Koi na de toh usse hum chhote nahi hote. Bas maidaan khelne ke liye barabar de do chhalaang hum bhi oonchi laga sakte hai," Kunal said. His take is totally valid. All he's asking for is a level playing field. OTT platforms are supposed to be unbiased. They don't differentiate between actors. Content is the only thing that matters on OTT. But if the required publicity is uneven for actors, it will definitely have an impact on those actors who are being ignored.

On the other hand, Vidyut Jammwal wrote, "A BIG announcement for sure!! 7 films scheduled for release but only 5 are deemed worthy of representation. 2 films, receive no invitation or intimation. It's a long road ahead. THE CYCLE CONTINUES." Imagine you being a part of project and not even being invited for its launch. Forget the launch, the actors weren't even informed that their films were being launched. It is plain ridiculous.

In times of this pandemic, the launch was online. All that was needed to invite all actors of all films was a link to join and maybe some good intent.
