Tuesday Trivia: Did you know before Ajay Devgn, the role of Kaali Pratap Singh from Kaal was offered to these three actors?

Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar's 2005 production venture Kaal, which featured Ajay Devgn, John Abraham, Vivek Oberoi, Esha Deol, Lara Dutta, Vishal Malhotra and Kushal Punjabi, was among the first Bollywood films to explore the supernatural genre. While the film failed to make a mark at the box office, those who watched it loved the riveting plot and star performances, especially of the mysterious character of Kaali Pratap Singh, which was played by Ajay Devgn. While the Singham actor nailed the character to perfection, it will amaze you to know that before him, the makers approached three actors for that role.

The original choice for Kaali was Nana Patekar, who rejected it. Later it was offered to Saif Ali and Shahid Kapoor, who also passed the role. Though if we look at the box office performance, we can say that they took the right decision to let this role go.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn will be next seen in Bhuj: The Pride Of India. The actor portrays the role of IAF Vijay Karnik, who was in-charge of the Bhuj Airport during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi and Sharad Kelkar in key roles. While Sanjay Dutt plays the character of Ranchordas Svabhai Ravari, who helped the army during the war, Nora Fatehi plays an Indian spy named Heena Rehman. On the other hand, Sonakshi Sinha will be seen as a social worker named Sunderben Jetha Madharparya. The film was scheduled to release on August 15 but looking at the pandemic situation, there is a high chance that the film's release will be delayed. In fact, there are rumours that the makers might release the film on an OTT platform. However, there's no official announcement yet.
