Kartik Aaryan to step into the shoes of Allu Arjun for the Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo?

Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde starrer Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, which released in January this year, turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office. While earlier there was speculations that Sivakarthikeyan will star in the Tamil remake of this commercial entertainer, the latest reports suggest that Kartik Aaryan will step into the shoes of the stylish star for the Bollywood version of it. As per the Mid-Day report, the film will be directed by Varun Dhawan's brother Rohit Dhawan and will be bankrolled by original porducers Allu Aravind and S Radha Krishna. The film is expected to go on floors in early 2021.

A trade source told the tabloid, "Before the lockdown, Kartik had been approached for the role of Bantu, which was played by Allu. The role is apt for Kartik, who is also a good dancer. The deal was apparently finalised on Thursday, and Kartik will film for it after he wraps up Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dostana 2. The movie will roll in early 2021." The source added, "The makers are scouting for an established actor, like Aparshakti Khurrana or Angad Bedi, to play Raj's role. Paresh Rawal is in contention for the role of Bantu's father. News of Kartik's entry is being kept under wraps as the makers want to announce the remake in September."

Meanwhile Kartik Aaryan has two big projects under his belt, which are Bhool Bhulaiya 2 and Dostana 2. While the horror-comedy features Kiara Advani and Tabu, the latter co-stars Janhvi Kapoor and is produced under the banner of Dharma Productions. On the other hand, Allu Arjun will be next seen in Pushpa, which also features Rashmika Mandanna in a lead role. It is directed by Sukumar, who previously collaborated with the star on Arya and Arya 2. DSP (Devi Sri Prasad) will compose the music of the film.
